Pastor Tony Jeffery
Tony Jeffery has served as Pastor of Center of Life Christian Church for the past 6 years. Prior to answering the call to plant a church, Tony served as a former associate minister at Trinity Mount Carmel Baptist Church where he served under the direction of Dr. Charles M. Roach. He has the distinct honor of serving as the last Pastor installed by Dr. Roach prior to his passing in 2015.
Tony also served as an associate minister under Dr. F. James Clark at Shalom City of Peace for 9 years, where he taught the adult classes and bible studies and had opportunities to preach the gospel.
Tony accepted his call to the ministry at the age of 24, preaching his first sermon at 25. Over the years his love for Christ called for him to serve in several capacities. He has traveled outside the US to Ukraine to Preach God’s word in evangelism efforts.
Over the years Tony has preached on several mission trips and for a number of local churches. He has performed numerous weddings, funerals and retirement events. His time served also includes a span of over 20 years coaching, teaching and preaching with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Tony also has a passion for coaching. He has been a celebrated Coach for over 20 years which included time as a former owner/head coach of a Minor League Football Team, the St. Louis Saints. In coaching football his love was to teach his athletes to love the game and to play using their minds to win as much as their bodies. As a coach he had distinctive opportunities to coach and mentor athletes that afforded him relationships that, on several occasions, created opportunities for him to share the love of Christ. In addition to coaching football, Tony was a celebrated head track coach where he led the 2012 Class 2 State Champion Cleveland NJROTC. This was the first time Cleveland NJROTC had ever won a Championship.
As a player, Tony was voted Most Valuable Player his freshman and sophomore years for Coffeyville Community College. He was inducted into Coffeyville’s Football Hall of Fame for his role on their National Championship team in 1990. He broke the single game rushing record and was named the MVP in the Junior College National Championship game. His success at Coffeyville led him to an opportunity to play for the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville.
God took Tony’s passion for people, ministry and sports and created a well-rounded ministry which is deeply embedded in walking individuals, families and couples through the highs and lows of life. His life experiences have made him an effective listener and an outstanding communicator of the gospel where he responsibly applies the healing power of the word of God.
Tony is a graduate of Covenant Theological Seminary where he earned his Master of Applied Theology. He is happily married to his beautiful wife Veta and is a proud father of two beautiful daughters Ishmaiah and Toni. Tony lives his life depending on prayer and the truth of God’s word and walking with others as they learn to do the same.
